Metal Character is produced using metallic ink, which consists of ink infused with tiny metal particles like aluminium, gold, and copper. When the ink dries, these particles reflect light, lending a metallic sheen to the paper. To ensure durability, a laminate or varnish is then applied as a protective layer, preventing the ink from cracking over time. Since metallic inks are classified as spot colours, they can be printed using the same press as CMYK colours.
